Description

Principle of the Assay: The Mouse CCL19 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Mouse CCL19 in Cell Culture Supernates, Serum, Plasma. This assay employs an antibody specific for Mouse CCL19 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CCL19 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Mouse CCL19 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CCL19 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Background: Chemokine(C-C motif) ligand 19 (CCL19) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family that is also known as EBI1 ligand chemokine (ELC) and macrophage inflammatory protein-3-beta (MIP-3-beta). Using PCR of human-rodent hybrids, the CCL19 gene was mapped to human chromosome 9p13, and the CCL19 gene is not part of the CC chemokine gene cluster on chromosome 17. The cytokine encoded by this gene may play a role in normal lymphocyte recirculation and homing. It also plays an important role in trafficking of T cells in thymus, and in T cell and B cell migration to secondary lymphoid organs
